A look back at where I've been
From the introduction to Finding Your Personal Mission:
If you had seen me just a couple of years ago, and compared that with the way I am today, you would notice a drastic difference. This is especially true if you were in my house on the night of September 10, 2017. I remember the date because it was that night Hurricane Irma made landfall in Florida. I was stressed, and I didn’t think it was a big enough deal to warrant reaching out. Little by little the stress crept up on me until at midnight, I was sitting at my desk with a bottle of sleeping pills prescribed for me. I was debating whether or not I should take the whole bottle.
Yes, I know what that would have done to me. Oddly enough, however, that night my thoughts were not focused on dying. My thoughts were around ‘going to sleep’ long enough for the stress and pain to pass.
I did not take the pills.
I did finally reach out. A friend gave me the tools that night that I’ve been using ever since. He told me, “Your story is not over yet.”
How did I go from there to where I am today; a confident college senior with a business and a passion for living? I need to point out before I go any further that I am by no means a professional in dealing with psychiatric issues. If you are dealing with a medical issue, please seek the help of a medical provider. I am a regular guy who was able to conquer thoughts and feelings of suicide, and this is my story of how I did it and how you can do it too.
I am not a college senior any more. I graduated in May of 2020, and now I am growing not only as a high performer on the job, but also as a business owner. I believe that change started with my friend who had the courage to tell me that my story was not over yet on that night in September 2017. The same can be said for you. Your story is not over yet. If you haven't picked up, Finding Your Personal Mission, please do. You can find it on Amazon, Audible, or by simply emailing email@example.com.
Your story is not over yet, but only you can make that determination. Do not quit. Believe in yourself. Because you can make it.
